Nordisk Games, acquisition of Super Massive Games
Nordisk Games (Nordisk) has acquired Super Massive Games (Super Massive), famous for its unexpected and Dark Pictures Anthology series.
The start of the acquisition was planned since March 2021. At that time, Nordisk acquired a 30.7% stake in Super Massive, and later wanted to expand its investment and had a 100% stake. Super Massive has become the third development studio owned by Nordisk.
Super Massive was founded in 2008 by Pete Samuels and Joe Samuels, and is currently an interactive game developer with more than 300 employees. In the early days of its founding, it focused on collaboration with Media Molly, which is known as a Little Big Planet developer, but has been developing the Dark Pictures Anthology series and the latest query, starting with Unil Dunn, which was launched as a PS4 platform in 2015.
Regarding the acquisition, Super Massive CEO PETE SAMUELS said, It was not a difficult decision when I wanted to expand investment in Nordisk because I had a positive experience for the past year after the investment in Nordic. Professional knowledge can lead us to the next level.
Meanwhile, Nordisk is based in Copenhagen and has a 40%stake in Avalanche Studio and Metroid Dread developer Mercury, known as the Hunter series developer.
